FSSAI Registration is a very necessary document for food Repackers to meet the legal requirement. In this article, we will discuss FSSAI Registration for Repackers.

Repacker is a business that takes the products from the manufacturing unit and packs them on their own brand and markets the product. Food business operators (FBOs) must hold an FSSAI license or registration in accordance with the eligibility criteria for repackaging and selling food products in India.

The type of FSSAI license would vary depending on the type and scale of the repacker business.

  • Basic FSSAI Registration
  • If the annual turnover of the business is less than 12 lakhs then the food business operator shall get registered with Basic FSSAI Registration.

  • State FSSAI Licence Registration
  • If the annual turnover of the business is between 12 to 20 crores then the food business operator shall apply for State FSSAI Licence Registration.

  • Central FSSAI Licence Registration
  • If the annual turnover of the business is above 20 crores, then the food business operator shall apply for Central FSSAI Licence Registration.

Documents Required for Repackers


When you fill out the FSSAI license form, check for the following documents that you will need:-

  1. PAN card of the owner
  2. Identity Proof (Driving License/Aadhaar Card/Voter ID Card/Etc)

  3. Company Address Proof (Rent Contract/NOC/Water & Energy Bill/etc) Copy of the Land Paper (if owned).

  4. A copy of any government-authorized certificate.

  5. Current passport-size photograph of the applicant.
