FSSAI Registration of Central License



  1. Business working as importers in the food business or export-oriented sector, major producers, contractors in Central Government offices, ports or airports, etc requires having this Central license which is issued by the Food Safety Standard Authority of India.

  2. Central License is issued by the Central Government.

  3. A company headquartered in a food business needs a license if it operates in different states or cities

  4. Central License is required to Food and Business Operator (FBOs) which have an Annual Turnover of Rs. 20 crore

  5. Central License is issued for five years and a minimum for the period of one year.

FSSAI Registration of State License



  1. This license is for small and medium enterprises such as transportation , storage, transported, distributors, marketers etc.

  2. State License is issued by the State Government.

  3. Company obtaining State license must have its operation in one state only

  4. The business obtaining State License must have an Annual Turnover of Rs. 12 Lakh

  5. State License is issued for five years and minimum for the period of one year.

  6. Following Examples Food Companies requires to apply to the regulatory authority for a State FSSAI license:

FSSAI Registration of Basic Registration License



  1. This license is issued by the Government of the State and is granted to small producers, storage units, haulers, marketers and distributors

  2. The Company obtaining Basic Registration License must have an Annual Turnover of Rs. 12 Lakh

  3. Basic Registration License is issued for five years and minimum for the period of one year
